DeRosette is also an active member of The Greater Allen AME Cathedral of NY in Southeast Queens. She has served 3 years on various committees during Women’s Season under the leadership of her Co-Pastor Rev. Dr. Elaine M. Flake and was one of 11 Supervising Chairwomen that planned the local seminars, workshops, luncheons, and the retreat for the women both in the church and from the surrounding communities. She recently received The Global Impact Award from Greater Allen’s Women’s Ministry in recognition for her unwavering commitment to serving humankind through leadership and Christian example.
DeRosette, a Queens native, was educated in the NYC Public School system. She graduated from LaGuardia High School and then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University. She later attended CUNY, Hunter College to receive a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. DeRosette is currently employed at NYU-Winthrop Hospital in Mineola, NY as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She is passionate about physical therapy and loves to help her patients on the road to recovery from their various illnesses. Here she finds another way that she can serve her fellow man, woman or child.
In the winter of 2019, DeRosette was invited to an open meeting with the Freeport Merrick chapter of Rotary International. Having been searching for new opportunities to be of service both in her community and the world, DeRosette realized that Rotary International was a perfect fit and thus joined the Freeport Merrick Rotary Club in February 2020. DeRosette has been a financial and active member if this club for the past two years. She has helped plan and has participated in many of the club’s service projects. As the incoming Co-President of the Freeport Merrick Rotary Club, she will be intentional about upholding the Rotarian principles; committed to creative and innovative projects that meet the needs of the communities which we serve, and continue to find opportunities that demonstrate to the community that the members of this club are “People of Action” who believe in “Service Above Self “.
