Kenrick Dookram - Treasurer
 
Director Kenrick Dookram was born in Georgetown Guyana and immigrated to the United States when he was 3 years old.   Ken graduated High School in 1985 and then went on to attend and graduate from Hofstra University with a Degree in Business Management.  While at Hofstra, he also enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served honorably as an indirect fire support infantryman from May 1986 to May 1992.   
 
Ken currently works for State Farm Insurance, where he is an Agent with an office in Freeport NY.  While working in the insurance industry Ken has acquired two professional designations.  He is a Chartered Life Underwriter and is a Fellow of the Life Underwriting Training Council.
 
Ken met his wife, Sara, while they both attended Hofstra University and they were married on July 10, 1993.  They have two and a half children Benjamin Joseph (23) Lillian Cecilia (18) and Snowy Looper (Maltese, 12) who are the center of their lives.
 
Ken has been involved with several civic and religious organizations and clubs. He and his family are affiliated with Ascension Lutheran Church in Deer Park where he has served on The Church Council and various committees, has been involved in there Confirmation and youth ministries and is currently Communion Assistant and usher. Ken is currently the Chairperson of the Salvation Army Advisory Council, Freeport Citadel which services the South Shore of Nassau County.  He is currently the Second Vice President and a Director of the Freeport Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member, and the treasurer, of the Freeport-Merrick Rotary Club, and serves on their board, as well as on various committees.  He also has been involved as a volunteer coach for baseball, basketball, travel lacrosse and travel soccer teams with his children. 
 
Ken’s philosophy on life has been to give till it hurts.  To get better at anything, including life you have to go beyond what is customary and easy.  You must push yourself and get outside of your comfort zone.  In giving of our time and talents we show thanks for all of our blessings and are paid back ten-fold in the thanks and appreciation of the people whom we have affected.
